Welcome Writers This is the future home of the Western Connecticut Writers Club Website and the current
location of my HTML and Linguistics projects. This site is being loaded and tested page by page, so please stand by!
For the HTML class, the site starts here and continues when you click
"Linguistics Home" above. From here you are brought through a
series of pages, all containing hyperlinks to other pages to aid the reader in
learning the subject. Each page ends with a prompt to continue.
At the end of the tutorial, you will be lead to a Linguistics Step 2
page. From here there will be a prompt to take you through several
different choices among Linguistics main disciplines, such as Phonetics,
Phonology, Morphology, Semantics, Syntax and Morphology. Follow the
Phonetics links as they go up, as that will be the next section listed after
the tutorial and subsequent supporting documentation, and there you will find
graphics and thumbnails as well.
For the sake of the assignment, I ask you to be patient with the upload of
this site, as the first ten pages alone require almost 50 pages of links which
have links from them and so on, and managing the site is difficult at best.
As a result, I did use Frontpage as we discussed to create copies and to
ensure continuity of my links. This site will take me several days to
load in entirety, as along with my requirements for you, I must also make
sure my works are cited properly.
Each page uses a series of tables that I half ripped off and modified
from a sight I liked. The table in the "affixations" page is
purely mine though. The styles are included in a single stylesheet called I hopethisworks.css.
The contents of this stylesheet are:
body
{
font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, Regular;
font-size: "12";
}
table
{
font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, Regular;
font-size: "12";
}
h1, h2, h3
{
font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, Bold;
font-size: "18";
}
pre
